Comparison
Choosing NCLEX prep as a Nigerian nurse
If you're preparing for NCLEX from Nigeria, you've probably already found UWorld, Archer and Kaplan. They're the names everyone mentions in the WhatsApp groups.
They're good platforms, and not all of them are expensive — Archer's monthly plan starts at $79, which is genuinely accessible. But every one of them bills in dollars, and that's the real constraint for a lot of Nigerian nurses, regardless of the sticker price.
This page is an honest comparison — including where PassMate is genuinely better for you, and where it isn't. I'm a registered nurse. I built PassMate because I needed it, and I'd rather you choose the right platform than the one with the best sales page.

Where PassMate genuinely wins
You can actually pay for it
This is the one nobody talks about. UWorld, Archer and Kaplan all bill in dollars, which means a card that works for international payments. Plenty of Nigerian nurses don't have one, or have one with a limit far below the subscription price.
PassMate is ₦25,000, paid by card or bank transfer, through Paystack. No forex, no virtual dollar card, no asking a relative abroad to pay for you.
NMCN is covered. Nowhere else covers it.
If you're still writing NMCN, no foreign platform helps you at all. UWorld has never heard of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
PassMate has 13,025 real NMCN past questions going back years, because that's the exam I built it for first. NCLEX came after.
That matters if you're on the normal path: qualify in Nigeria, work a while, then look abroad. One platform covers both stages.
An unlimited AI tutor
UWorld and Kaplan both have an AI tutor now too — UWorld's UAsk, Kaplan's AI Tutor. Both are metered: a fixed number of prompts depending on your plan, then you're back to reading rationales alone.
PassMate's AI tutor is unlimited. Ask as many questions as you need — why is B wrong, explain the pathophysiology, give me three more like this — without watching a prompt counter.
It doesn't expire
Most platforms sell you 30, 60 or 90 days. Miss your exam date, get posted somewhere without data, life happens — you buy again.
PassMate is one payment. Access doesn’t expire.
Where the others are better
I'd rather tell you this than have you find out.
UWorld's questions are authored and vetted by 40+ registered nurses and nurse educators. Years of student performance data sit behind every item. PassMate's questions are written to the NCSBN test plan and are newer, with no comparable track record yet.
They have track records. Thousands of people have passed using UWorld and can say so. PassMate is new. My users are early, and some of them are still writing.
No pass guarantee. Some platforms offer money back if you fail. I don't, because I'm not going to promise something I can't stand behind at this stage.
If money isn't a constraint and you want the most established option, UWorld is a reasonable choice. I'd rather say that plainly than oversell.
Who PassMate is actually for
A good fit if you
Look elsewhere if you
Try it before you decide
You don't have to take any of this on trust.
The free trial needs no card details. Practise real questions, ask the AI tutor something, run a CBT session with the timer, see whether it works for how you study.
If it doesn't, you've lost nothing and UWorld is still there.
I'm Okunola. I'm a registered nurse, and I built PassMate because preparing for these exams from Nigeria is harder than it needs to be — the good tools are priced for somewhere else, and the affordable ones are a PDF of past questions with no answers.
If PassMate helps you pass, that's the whole point. If something else serves you better, take it.
